The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade discussed issues of enhancing exhibition activities

Under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade S. Umurzakov, a meeting was held in a video conference format to discuss measures to enhance exhibition activities.

The meeting was attended by the heads of relevant ministries, departments, the khokimiyat of Tashkent, as well as representatives of the Institute of Art Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation.

It was noted that international exhibitions are one of the most effective tools for strengthening investment and trade-economic relations with foreign partners, promoting domestic products to promising foreign markets, and also contribute to an active cultural and historical exchange between countries.

In this regard, the organization of the exhibition of national products “Made in Uzbekistan” was discussed, as well as unique museum exhibits and collections, exhibitions of contemporary art and crafts at the national exhibition center of Uzbekistan on the territory of the All-Russian Exhibition Center (VDNH) in Moscow (Russian Federation).

Information on the current state of the work being carried out in preparation for the events was presented, as well as specific proposals and measures for accelerating the resolution of organizational issues related to the construction work, sending museum items and collections, contemporary art and craft craftsmanship and other events were announced as part of the upcoming opening ceremony of the Center and the exhibition.

The emphasis was also on the need to strengthen the work on the formation of a preliminary package of real investment projects and trade contracts with a view to signing them with Russian partners as part of the planned activities – in this matter, the coordination of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade will synchronize the activities of ministries, departments, local authorities as well as the embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation.

For reference: on May 30, 2019, between the Governments of Russia and Uzbekistan, an Agreement was signed on the establishment of the exhibition center “Exhibition and Cultural Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan” in pavilion No. 66 on the territory of the All-Russian Exhibition Center (VDNH) in Moscow, according to which the pavilion and historically connected with it, a part of the land is provided to the Uzbek side for rent for 49 years. Currently, repair and restoration work is underway in the pavilion.
